Kyoto takes players straight into one of the burning issues of our time: climate change — and not with a wagging finger, but by putting them into the shoes of the decision makers.

As delegates from different countries, players face a few quick rounds of negotiation at a climate conference. Together, they try to hit reduction targets and provide the needed funding, knowing that each round they fail to do so they inflict severe damage on the planet. But bent on preserving their own country's wealth and following their secret agendas, none of them may be eager to give more than absolutely necessary. After all, the winner will be whoever best preserves their wealth...unless the impending damage to earth becomes too severe, in which case the conference fails immediately and the greediest player can't win.

Ready for a flight into the galaxy of the notorious Space Dragons? Only with a competent crew can players become successful dragon hunters. They target seven dragons, always in competition with their rivals. But some dragons do more harm than good, so it can be worthwhile to let others go first and concentrate on keeping you ship intact, as you should be careful that your opponents do not shoot your spaceships. Whoever was able to score the most points with his crew and the dragons they won after seven rounds, will be crowned top dragon hunter.

In the trick-taking game Space Dragons, the players first draft a crew of nine cards, then they play seven of them in order to score as many points as possible. Whoever plays the highest card in a trick wins the face-up dragon. In contrast to other trick-taking games, however, there are no suits to follow and the cards that were played remain in front of the respective players. They trigger special effects when played, but also grant victory points. With three double-sided scoring cards and a variant for an even faster game, there is plenty of variety.

In the world of international espionage effective ways of completing missions are just as important as improvisation and secured travel routes. In Spy Connection players travel Europe to fulfill their missions as quickly as possible. To fulfill mission cards, players have to build a route between all shown locations. While they are allowed to use their established network to fulfill future missions, their network is of limited size: eventually, to expand in one direction they will have to remove markers elsewhere, thus changing their network throughout the game to meet the current requirements. Whoever manages to fulfill 7 missions first, wins the game.

There has never been an easier way of becoming an international spy than Spy Connection. The right mix of planning and improvisation is key to winning this network building family game for 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up.
